The design challenge

Receipts hold details.
People need answers.

Purchase information arrives as paper receipts, files and emails. Genie Vault is designed to bring those records together and make them useful through conversation, spending insights and direct purchase management.

My role was to translate the product requirements into journeys, interactions and interfaces, working with Identifyi’s project managers and CTO.

Product evolution

The brief evolved.
So did the experience.

The first iteration was focused on creating an SDK ready solution. It was a restrained, chat-led experience intended to live inside a partner’s app. As the team shifted towards a standalone product, I developed a distinct identity and a broader set of tools around purchase data.

01 / Collect

Different receipts.
One place to start.

The product needed three entry routes: camera capture, file upload and email forwarding. I designed the steps around each route, bringing different sources into the same Vault.

02 / Organise

Conversation is central.
Control stays close.

Purchases began as a notification area. As the scope grew, it needed to become a place where people could search, inspect and manage their records directly.

I expanded the workspace with search, sorting, filters, purchase details and editing—while keeping it accessible from the chat-led experience.

Designing for imperfect data

Better answers start with better records.

Missing information needs a visible route to resolution. I designed review and editing flows so people can correct individual items and organise purchases with tags.

The interface makes purchase management an explicit task, with a clear way back to the information behind an answer.

03 / Understand

A question starts
with a purchase.

Ask Genie carries the selected record into the conversation. People can ask about its contents without finding and describing the purchase again.

From a question to a clear view

See the patterns
behind the purchases.

Different questions need different answers. I explored summaries, charts and tables within the conversation, helping people compare shops, follow changes over time and inspect the figures.

Charts show a pattern. Summaries make it scannable. Detailed records let people look closer.

04 / Act

From understanding
to a useful next step.

The offer experience is designed to connect purchase insights with relevant promotions. I designed how an offer appears in conversation and how people move into its details and next action.

The card introduces the opportunity; the detail view keeps the offer and its conditions close at hand.

Genie Vault

A foundation for a growing product

One identity.
A shared visual language.

Alongside the product flows, I developed Genie Vault’s identity and built the shared design system: a consistent foundation for the interface as the scope evolved.

I also designed and built the Genie Vault, Genie Vision and Identifyi websites in Webflow, extending the identity across the wider ecosystem.

Beyond the consumer app

A connected
product family.

My work also extended to Genie Vision, where permissioned purchase insights support business analysis and campaign planning.

The shared visual foundation connects consumer and business experiences, while their interfaces serve different audiences and tasks.

Still evolving.
Still asking what is useful.

Genie Vault continues to develop. I’m working with the team to refine the experience as requirements evolve, keeping the focus on helping people collect, understand and use their purchase information.
