FINTECH / DESIGN EXPLORATION

Rethinking pay.
Building confidence.

A daily wage app concept exploring how workers could see what they have earned, decide what to set aside, and make more of every payday.

This exploration brings together themes from my fintech product work at Artifact Studio: early wage access, goals, investing and design systems.

THE IDEA

Pay changes by the day.
The experience should keep up.

Early access changes the rhythm of a paycheck. Instead of waiting for a single monthly moment, people can see earnings as they build and make choices along the way.

The design challenge was to connect today’s money with tomorrow’s plans, without making the app feel like a financial dashboard to decode.

EXPERIENCE PRINCIPLES

One clear path
through your pay.

Every screen needed to answer a practical question: what have I earned, what is available, and what can I do next?

01 / See

Know where you stand.

Make the daily balance and earnings easy to scan.

02 / Set aside

Give money a purpose.

Connect immediate needs with personal goals.

03 / Grow

Build on small choices.

Make saving and investing part of the same flow.

01 / EARNINGS

A useful view
of today.

The home screen brings earnings, spending and next steps into one view. Workers can understand what has changed since their last visit and move straight to an action.

DESIGN DECISION

Lead with the number people need today, then reveal the detail behind it. The home screen offers orientation before asking for a decision.

02 / GOALS

Make room for
what matters.

Faster access to earnings creates more moments to choose where money goes. Goals give those choices a name—from essential bills to something worth looking forward to.

03 / ALLOCATION

Turn a portion
into a plan.

People can allocate part of their wage to company shares, an investment package or fixed-rate savings. The interface makes the split visible before it becomes a habit.

04 / REBALANCING

Keep the plan
on course.

As values move, the portfolio can drift from the split someone chose. Rebalancing shows what changed and offers a clear route back to the intended balance.

DESIGN SYSTEM

A shared language
for daily decisions.

Reusable interface patterns connect the home, goals and investment journeys. The same visual cues help people recognise balances, actions and progress wherever they are.

LOOKING BACK

Confidence is built
one choice at a time.

This concept connects a short-term need—accessing what you have earned—with longer-term habits. Its design keeps the path from understanding to action visible across the product.
